Spiritual Journey Begins with "Har Har Mahadev" Chants. The sacred Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, which had been suspended for the past five years, finally resumed with great enthusiasm on Sunday.

The first batch of 39 pilgrims, accompanied by two liaison officers, was ceremoniously flagged off from the Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. The air was filled with devotion as pilgrims and dignitaries chanted "Har Har Mahadev," invoking blessings for a safe and spiritually enriching journey.

Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Launches the Pilgrimage

Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh presided over the flag-off ceremony, marking it as a historic moment for the state. In his address, he emphasized the government's dedication to promoting religious tourism and facilitating pilgrims in their spiritual endeavors. The event was also graced by Cabinet Minister Sunil Sharma, Ghaziabad MP Atul Garg, Principal Secretary (Religious Affairs and Culture) Mukesh Meshram, and District Magistrate Deepak Meena, among other officials.

Special Shaivite Prayer Sets a Divine Tone

To bless the pilgrims before their arduous journey, a special Shaivite prayer ceremony was conducted. The rhythmic sounds of traditional instruments like the damru, mridang, turhi, and dholak created a deeply spiritual ambiance. The collective chants of "Har Har Mahadev" resonated through the venue, filling the hearts of devotees with divine energy and determination.

Reduced Numbers Due to Health Concerns

Originally, 46 pilgrims had registered for the first batch, but some could not join due to health-related issues, as per an official statement. Despite the slight reduction in numbers, the enthusiasm remained undiminished. The state government has assured all necessary support, including medical assistance, to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage for the participants.  

Financial Assistance for UP Residents 

In a significant move to encourage devotees, the Uttar Pradesh government is providing financial aid of ₹1 lakh to each resident of the state undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on pilgrims, making the sacred journey more accessible to devotees from all walks of life.  

Rudraksha Garland and Sugam Darshan Card as Divine Souvenirs 

Adding to the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust CEO Vishwabhushan Mishra announced that each returning pilgrim would receive a sacred *Rudraksha* garland and a QR-coded 'Sugam Darshan' card. This special card will grant priority entry to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for the pilgrim and four family members for one year. However, the privilege will not be applicable during major festivals like Mahashivratri and Sawan Mondays, when the temple witnesses exceptionally high footfall.
