The intense heat and relentless sunlight have led to excessive sweating, making daily life extremely challenging. Uttar Pradesh is also reeling under the oppressive heat, with temperatures soaring beyond 45°C in several cities.

Western UP Battles Extreme Heat in the Morning

Western Uttar Pradesh is already experiencing severe heat early in the morning, leaving people drenched in sweat. The scorching conditions are creating additional difficulties for those commuting or working outdoors. From Central to Eastern UP, the heatwave shows no signs of relenting, with the sun blazing mercilessly.  

Weather Change Expected on June 13

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a shift in weather patterns in the coming days. On June 13, many parts of the country, including Uttar Pradesh, may experience rainfall and thunderstorms, providing some relief from the extreme heat.

Heatwave Alert Issued Across Uttar Pradesh

The IMD has issued a severe heat alert for all districts of Uttar Pradesh. Specific warnings have been issued for Lalitpur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Mahoba, Hamirpur, and Etawah, where the heat is expected to be particularly harsh. Additionally, Kanpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Firozabad, and Mainpuri are also under a heat alert.  

Heatwave and Intense Sunlight in Multiple Regions

Agra, Hathras, Aligarh, and Mathura are likely to experience a severe heatwave accompanied by scorching temperatures. Meanwhile, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and Sonbhadra have been alerted about strong sunlight, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. Other districts, including Chandauli, Basti, Deoria, Kushinagar, and Maharajganj, are also under a heat warning.

Rain and Cloudy Skies Expected on June 12 and 13

The IMD has forecasted a possible change in weather conditions on June 12, with cloudy skies and rain expected in some parts of Uttar Pradesh. By June 13, thunderstorms and rainfall are likely to provide much-needed respite from the relentless heat.  

Temperatures Cross 45°C in Major UP Cities

Uttar Pradesh’s cities are burning under extreme heat, with temperatures comparable to a furnace. On Tuesday, Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra, and Kanpur witnessed unbearable heat, disrupting daily life. Prayagraj, Jhansi, and Banda also recorded dangerously high temperatures, making it difficult for people to venture outside.  

Record-Breaking Temperatures in Key Cities

  • Prayagraj (Allahabad): 45.2°C  
  • Agra: 45.1°C  
  • Jhansi and Banda: Close to 45°C  

The extreme heat has forced residents to stay indoors during peak hours, while outdoor workers and commuters face significant health risks.  

Precautions and Safety Measures Advised

  • Given the severe heatwave, authorities have advised people to:  
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.  
  • Avoid direct sunlight between 11 AM and 4 PM.  
  • Wear light, breathable clothing.  
  • Use umbrellas, hats, and sunglasses when outdoors.  
  • Be aware of symptoms of heatstroke, such as dizziness and nausea.

While the current heatwave has made life difficult across North India, the upcoming weather change on June 13 is expected to bring some relief.
